The mission of nursing at Westchester Medical Center is to provide care that recognizes the full range of the human experience across the continuum and enhances patient outcomes related to health and healing. Its members utilize the nursing process, develop caring relationships, apply scientific knowledge and develop collaborative partnerships to achieve established quality clinical outcomes in a cost effective way.

The philosophy of nursing at Westchester Medical Center is guided by the nursing process; professional nurses assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, develop a comprehensive plan of care based on nursing standards of practice, implement appropriate interventions and evaluate outcomes in an effort to return patients and their families to their optimum level of health and well-being.
