Gregg Lanier M.D.

Director, Heart Failure & Pulmonary Hypertension

Coming originally from the Midwest, Dr. Lanier completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in 1999 and then attended Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.  In 2003, he moved to New York City to complete internship, medical residency and cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital.  To further his experience in cardiac transplant and ventricular assist device management, Dr. Lanier completed an additional Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University.

In 2011, Dr. Lanier joined Dr. Alan Gass, Westchester Heart and Vascular, and Westchester Medical Center in its mission to provide high quality, cutting-edge specialty care in the fields of heart failure, cardiac transplant, mechanical assist devices, and pulmonary hypertension.   In the outpatient setting, he sees referrals for heart failure and pulmonary hypertension as well as for general cardiology conditions.  He is a strong believer in fostering the multidisciplinary team environment which is critical in maintaining great outcomes in cardiac transplant and ventricular assist devices.

Dedicated to education in medicine, he plays an active role in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.  He is the Associate Director of the fellowship program at Westchester and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine for New York Medical College.   Dr. Lanier is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure, and is a Fellow of the ACC and member of the AHA, ISHLT and Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
