Inpatient Rehabilitation

Following a stroke, an injury or an illness, the facility you choose to provide your physical rehabilitation can impact the rest of your life. It can determine how mobile you are, how independent you are and how well you function on a day-to-day basis. That's why it is important that you choose the inpatient rehabilitation facility that is right for you.

At the Westchester Medical Center Acute Rehabilitation Unit, you will receive the highly respected medical expertise of compassionate and focused rehabilitation care.

Patients in our Acute Rehab Unit typically receive at least three hours of rehabilitation therapy per day. A specialized team of expert clinicians provides comprehensive, 24-hour care.

Your care team includes:

  • Physiatrists (physicians who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation)
  • Rehabilitation nurses
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapists
  • Case managers
  • Pastoral care

Care is provided for the following diagnoses:

  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Amputation
  • Multi-trauma injury
  • Neurological illnesses (i.e. Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease)
