Theresa exhibits compassion while caring for the patients at BHC. There was an elderly patient with dementia, he was a widow and masked his grief by being “flirtatious” with the female staff. While many of the staff were offended by the patients comments and interactions, Theresa saw this situation as a man overwhelmed with his grief. Where other staff avoided interacting with this patient, Theresa would go out of her way to provide little acts of comfort and caring.
