Nurse Residency Program

2009 was the first time that Westchester Medical Center has provided this course to its new graduates in nursing. The Nurse Residency Program emerged from a partnership between the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC).

This very innovative program was chosen because we recognize the need for a more formalized support network for our new graduates. New graduates especially have the need to question, reflect and process to develop their critical thinking skills as they move from the novice to the advanced beginner role.

"Since Westchester Medical Center took the time and effort to invest in me, I feel that I can give back by offering my experience and time to help this program attain its accreditation."
