Orthopedics/Trauma
New York Medical College offers a five year residency in orthopaedic surgery. The residency is fully accredited by the Residency Review Committee. We offer a well rounded clinical and academic experience including exposure to each of the orthopaedic clinical subspecialties. The residency program is based out of Westchester Medical Center and is affiliated with hospitals in Manhattan, and the Hudson River Valley.
About the Program
Residents undergo clinical training on our campus and participate in clinical rotations at Saint Vincent's Manhattan, Sound Shore Medical Center, and the Hospital for Joint Diseases. Through this exposure to diverse hospital settings, our residents receive well-rounded clinical and academic training in all orthopaedic subspecialties.
Clinical training at Westchester Medical Center focuses on complex musculoskeletal injuries from high velocity trauma, complex joint revision, severe hand injuries, and pediatric and adult spine reconstruction due to deformity and injury. Pediatric rotations at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital (on the same campus) focus on clubfoot reconstructions, complex pelvic osteotomies, spine conditions, and much more.
