Pain Management

Stopping the "Ouch"

Although we take every precaution we can to avoid it, pain is sometimes an unavoidable part of medical care.  It is your child's right to have any pain managed properly during treatment and recovery. Our goal is to keep your child as comfortable as possible.

In addition to more traditional pain management techniques, our Distraction Station offers lights, sounds, and other sensations to distract your child during uncomfortable procedures such shots & IV insertions.

Your active involvement in your child's treatment will also help us to adequately manage any pain your child experiences. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to speak to a team member. Our booklet, Stopping the Ouch,  explains more about the importance of pain management.
