  • Flap Surgery
Flap reconstruction surgery is typically utilized in breast reconstruction procedures. Our team of reconstructive surgery specialists can rebuild a breast lost to mastectomy or other causes using tissue from your own body. The results can provide you with effective restoration of the breast with results that appear natural.
  • Tissue Expansion
With tissue expansion, patients who require breast reconstruction can attain effective and natural-looking results with a procedure designed to create excess skin in the breast area. This excess skin can be developed to form a pocket for a breast implant that provides patients with a new breast that looks natural and beautiful.
  • Maxillofacial Surgery
Innnovative maxillofacial surgery procedures can help those who suffer from aesthetic and functional problems affecting the face and neck area. Patients who have experienced injury, congenital deformity, and disease can achieve cosmetic improvement in the facial area that can dramatically increase their self-confidence about the way they look.
  • Microvascular Surgery
Microvascular surgery is often used in replantation surgery and hand reconstruction, procedures requiring reconstruction of arteries and veins. Procedures requiring microvascular surgery are utilized in reconstruction procedures using techniques that rely on using the patient’s own blood supply for tissue and bone replantation.
  • Rhinoplasty Revision Surgery
Patients who are unhappy with the results of a rhinoplasty (nose surgery) procedure performed elsewhere may consider rhinoplasty revision surgery, also known as secondary rhinoplasty at Westchester Medical Center.  Rhinoplasty revision can correct aesthetic or functional problems caused, or not addressed, in a previous nose surgery.
  • Scar Revision
Our team of reconstructive surgeons at Westchester Medical Center can significantly reduce the signs of scarring and rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. Advanced methods in treating a variety of scar types caused by burns, injuries, and previous surgery can do wonders for reducing the noticeability of scarring.
  • Skin and Bone Grafting
Skin grafting involves taking healthy skin from another area of your body to help close a severe wound. Bone grafting is a procedure designed to replace missing bones with substitutes made from natural, synthetic, or artificial materials. These procedures can be highly beneficial to those who have suffered traumatic injury or disease that has caused skin or bone loss.
  • Hand surgery
Used to treat several conditions, hand surgery can decrease deformities caused by severe arthritis, fluid retention and nerve damage from carpal tunnel syndrome, and more unusual scarring and abnormalities caused by diseases such as Dupuytren's contracture
  • Correction of congenital deformities
A variety of surgical procedures can be performed to correct deformities such as a cleft lip/palate, facial asymmetry, birth marks, ear deformities and other conditions.
  • Aesthetic surgery
Commonly referred to as cosmetic surgery, we perform a variety of procedures for patients wishing to change or enhance their appearance. Aesthetic and elective procedures include:
    • Face Lift: Surgical procedure to lift sagging skin around the face and jaw to reduce wrinkling and sagging, and to achieve a more youthful look.
    • Breast reductions and augmentations: Typically considered cosmetic or elective, these types of surgeries may also be medically justified due to other conditions which occur if these procedures are not done. For example, back and neck problems may sometimes necessitate breast reductions.
    • Blepharoplasty: Surgery to repair droopy eyelids by removing excess skin, muscle and fat.
    • Dermabrasion: Also known as skin refinishing, dermabrasion smoothes the skin surface and is often used to help remove scarring from acne or to remove fine wrinkles.
    • Mentoplasty: A surgical procedure of the chin, often used to enhance chin and jaw formation.
    • Abdominoplasty: Commonly known as a tummy tuck, this procedures removes skin and fat to tighten the skin of the abdominal area
    • Derma lipectomy and suction lipectomy: These are two different types of liposuction to remove fat and perform body sculpting.

To minimize scarring and to hasten recovery, our Division utilizes microvascular techniques, arthroscopy and minimally invasive access procedures as frequently as possible.
