The Sleep Center at Westchester Medical Center is a full-service, state-of-the-art laboratory equipped to treat a wide range of sleep disorders in both adults and children.
Nearly 1 in 10 people will experience a sleep disorder, with the majority going undiagnosed and untreated. Advances in sleep medicine and technology have made it possible to restore the good night's sleep that is fundamental to health and well-being. The Sleep Center at Westchester Medical Center is a full service, state-of-the-art laboratory equipped to treat a wide range of sleep disorders in both adults and children.
The Sleep Center's experienced team of adult and pediatric physicians and sleep specialists employ state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and manage a wide variety of sleep disorders. As part of a major academic medical center, the Sleep Center works in concert with on-site specialists in such adult and pediatric disciplines as neurology, sleep medicine, cardiology, otolaryngology, pulmonology and oral and maxillofacial surgery to develop a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.
Comprehensive sleep studies are conducted in the comfort of private, well-furnished rooms for patients (and parents). Utilizing the latest digital equipment, the sleep study is a non-invasive test in which a patient's sleep patterns, breathing, oxygen level, heart rate and rhythm, and muscle tone are monitored throughout the night. The results of the study are fully evaluated and physicians work closely with the patient and family to diagnose the sleep disorder and develop an effective treatment program.
