Donations Collected at Hudson Valley & Fairfield County IHOP Restaurants will Benefit Children Treated at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center

For the eighth consecutive year, IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer each guest a free short stack of its famous buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day in an effort to kick off Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ 30th Anniversary, as well to raise awareness and funds for other local charities.

Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center is a member of  Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the children’s hospital for New York’s Hudson Valley region and Connecticut’s Fairfield County. Since all donations  to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals stay local, contributions made on National Pancake Day at area IHOP restaurants* will benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center and the care of the region’s most seriously ill and injured children.

For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on National Pancake Day, IHOP guests are encouraged to make a voluntary contribution to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. IHOP hopes to raise $3 million nationally this year, with a goal to bring the total amount of funds raised to more than $13 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities. Editors Note: Pancake Day is a tradition that dates back several centuries to when the English prepared for fasting during Lent. Strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products…hence the name Pancake Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday. In 2013, IHOP’s National Pancake Day will be celebrated a week early, on February 5.
