Description Objectives:

1.Appreciate the role of catheter ablation as a treatment option in clinical practice for patients with atrial fibrillation;

2.Understand the conventional and advanced concepts for performing catheter ablation for patients with atrial fibrillation;

3.Understand the role of pharmacologic therapy, including the benefits and limitations, in the management of atrial fibrillation;

4.Integrate the use of newer oral anticoagulants into the clinical care of patients with atrial fibrillation with risk for stroke;

5.Understand the efficacy, safety and appropriate candidate for non-pharmacological, novel therapies for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation;

6.Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac implantable devices and their role in the management of atrial fibrillation.
