Dr. Silverman received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center in Brooklyn. He completed his training in Internal Medicine at the SUNY Health Science Center/Kings County Hospital Center, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident.
In 1993, Dr. Silverman completed Fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. He has since served as a member of the faculty and Cardiac Catheterization Lab staff at Montefiore where his responsibilities included training cardiology fellows, participating in clinical trials, as well as performing a vast array of interventional procedures including stents, rotational atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound and a high volume of primary angioplasties. Dr. Silverman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology.
In addition, Dr. Silverman practices both consultative and interventional cardiology. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
