Injury Prevention Program

Accidents Don't Just Happen...

Trauma is the leading cause of death in the young and a significant cause of death and disability in all decades of life in the United States today. Trauma has a direct impact on the victims and their families, as well as a social and financial impact on society as a whole.

Westchester Medical Center, as the Regional Trauma Center, has a unique insight into the magnitude and characteristics of trauma in the Hudson Valley region.

Injury Prevention Program

The Joel A. Halpern Trauma Center at Westchester Medical Center has made a commitment to preventing injury in the communities that we serve. With appropriate interventions, most unintentional injuries can be prevented. Please use these resources to help you and those you love stay safe.
