John Abrahams, M.D.
The most serious brain and spine injuries in the Hudson Valley are brought to Westchester Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital for New York Medical College. There, Dr. John Abrahams spends hours in surgery treating emergency cases. He performs difficult procedures, such as complex spinal surgery and skull base operations.
He has successfully treated hundreds of brain aneurysms using state-of-the-art technology and protocols. A full-time faculty member, Dr. Abrahams is an associate professor of Neurosurgery at New York Medical College.
Dr. Abrahams also is an inventor and entrepreneur. He has developed a new medical hydrogel to substantially reduce bleeding during surgery, as well as an injection to treat back pain. An effective advocate of medical research, Dr. Abrahams is launching the Westchester Neuroscience Research Foundation to research spinal cord injuries, stroke recovery, and brain tumors.
