Pediatric Neuro-oncology

The pediatric neuro-oncology team at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center works within a multidisciplinary program that includes pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric radiation oncology and advanced practice nursing disciplines.  These physicians and nurses are assisted by pediatric neuropathology, neuroradiology, neurology, endocrinology and nursing specialists.   A dedicated group of neuropsychologists, psychology, physical therapists, occupational therapists, Child Life specialists, nutrition, and social services personnel provide support for both the child and their family.   In additional to standard therapies, we provide research protocols as well as individualized treatment, including the capacity to provide novel cellular, and immune and targeted therapies.  One of our targeted therapy protocols has activity against brain stem glioma.
