Over half of our residents live in New York City. The relatively short 30-minute commute is made possible by the fact that we travel against the usual traffic. New York City’s rich diversity and culture provide limitless diversions and activities regardless of individual interests. Whether it’s a restaurant/bar, museum, park, sporting/concert event, or shopping venue, there’s always a new place to be explored. Residents living in NYC typically choose the Upper East Side or Upper West Side for quick highway access and relatively easier street parking compared with other areas of the city. Manhattan is easily accessible by car and public transportation. The Metro-North rail service operates every day of the week, including holidays.
One particular strength of the program that we value and treasure is the camaraderie amongst our residents. From our annual welcoming-the-first-years party at the beginning of the academic year to the graduation dinner and going-away party in June, we organize numerous events outside of work. We regularly get together for happy hours throughout the year, both in Westchester and in NYC.

We have a fairly competitive fantasy football league, which includes current residents as well as alumni. During the winter, some of the residents play in a New York City basketball league. The annual winter holiday party has been a huge hit amongst the residents over the years. We value the relationships built during residency, many of which continue well beyond graduation.
