Overview:
Alcoholic liver disease presents a new set of unique challenges for healthcare professionals. As the population of patients requiring liver transplant shifts away from hepatitis C, alcoholic liver disease is emerging as a primary indication for liver transplant. This seminar will cover the pathophysiology and epidemiology of alcoholic liver disease, the management of alcoholic hepatitis, transplant outcomes in alcoholic cirrhosis, the treatment of severe alcoholic hepatitis and the management of alcohol-use disorders.
